The Group was founded way back in 1992 and commenced operations as a single company when it introduced jeanswear to the market under the brand name of GA Blue. This laid the foundation for the Group which marks the beginning of a period of phenomenal growth.

In 1996, in order to meet its ever increasing demand, the Group started its own manufacturing facilities in 3 separate locations in Penang.

In 1998 the Group expanded its range of products when it was awarded the exclusive licensing rights to manufacture and distribute Mustang Jeans from Germany.

In 2001, in order to cater to the expansion plans of the Group, it consolidated the total operations under one roof with the construction of a new ultra modern, 100,000 square-foot building complex at the Bayan Lepas Industrial Park, Penang which houses its head office and fully integrated manufacturing facility which includes a sewing division, a treatment plant, laundry division and warehouse. With the support of its sub-contractors, the Group has the capacity to produce 500,000 pieces of garments per annum.

In 2003, the flagship brand of GA Blue was awarded the Malaysian Superbrands status for year 2003/04 by the Malaysian Superbrands Council for its distinct brand awareness, quality and recognition.

In 2003, the Group decided to diversify its interests overseas with the setting up of a marketing and design office in London. Laura Lees Label which feature fashion wear with embroidery designs was introduced to the European market. In order to complement its overseas market, a new brand called People’s Market created by Dexter Wong, our world renowned designer based in London was introduced in Europe to offer men and women’s high end fashion wear for the young and trendy.

The culmination of the Group’s achievement came on 25 th February 2004 when the Group was listed on Bursa Malaysia under the name of GA Blue International Bhd.

In 2005, our UK operations operating under the name of Twoagentsee, was awarded the exclusive distributorship in UK of Franklin & Marshall, a collection of men’s and women’s wear characterising the vintage and old college style. In 2006, the business undergo further expansion with the launch of a dress collection for women under the name of Once Upon A Time with fairy tale frocks in fresh modern fabrics which are inspired by rock and roll scene queens both past and present. Another UK brand added during the year was Rainbeaux, featuring vintage designed dresses and tops with floral prints for the feminine.

In the same year, the Group acquired a worldwide brand called UGP UndergroundProducts with a 20 year history in the United States focused on action and extreme sports wear and a presence in 15 countries.

In 2007, the Group hit the acquisition trail again and took the opportunity to increase its market share in denim wear with the purchase of Edwin, a label with global brand recognition.

In 2008, the Company changed its name to Sequoia Holdings Berhad to signify its broad spectrum of brands under its management. During the year, the Group took over the licensing rights to Wrangler, yet another world renowned brand for denim wear.

On 8th March 2010, the Company was renamed as Yen Global Berhad in line with its consolidation and revamping exercise and its aspiration and vision to be a global player.

The Group presently is primarily an original brand owner and manufacturer and is focused on creating and marketing of high quality branded apparel products that meet the exacting standards and requirements of the brand conscious consumers.

Marketing of the Group’s products in the local market are channeled through a wide distribution network comprising more than 300 retail outlets throughout the country that are strategically located in major cities and popular shopping complexes.
